This life apart can make me feel confused
I'm from the States but often wonder why
You ask and then you turn aside amused
"So where 'ya from?" I look up to the sky
There's in my drawer a book that's thick and blue
It's proof that I was born a Georgia peach
But now you've asked and I might say to you,
"I love UB but home's on Thailand's beach"
Perhaps i'd say, if you kept pressing me
Because I know you've never graced a jet
That nothing beats the taste of bubble tea
'Cause China just might be my favorite, yet
I think I'm from a place I've never been
But family helps me see right to that end
